As one of the leading tribunal barristers and QC’s, Bill has acted in numerous professional regulatory and disciplinary tribunal cases.

As well as having acted for doctors before the GMC (General Medical Council) and solicitors in front of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), Bill’s reputation as a leading regulatory tribunals barrister has also resulted in him being instructed in national high profile cases - such as that before the British Horseracing Authority Disciplinary Board, where he was acting on behalf of the trainer at the Godolphin stables, Mohammed Al Zarooni, following allegations of doping.

He has also been instructed in cases before the Financial Conduct Authority - the FCA (formally known as the Financial Services Authority - the FSA), the Merger and Takeover Panel, and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

Bill’s reputation as a leading tribunal barrister has meant that his expertise is also sought at the investigative stage of a tribunal, where he advises on the response to make to investigators. On a number of occasions, this has resulted in negotiated terms which have avoided proceedings being instituted in the first place.

He has also appeared in a number of landmark cases in the Administrative Court where the procedure of disciplinary tribunals has been considered.
